EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 15 : Over 1257 vaccination booths would be setup in all blocks of district Jammu to immunize children during Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) drive to be organized on January 20, 2013 in the first phase and February 24, 2013 in the 2nd phase. This was informed during a review meeting of the District Task Force Committee for Pulse Polio Immunization (PPI) drives held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu Rehana Batul here on Tuesday. During the meeting, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu Dr. Javed Akhter apprised the members about the comprehensive strategy and joint action plan to be adopted during the first round of Intensified Pulse Polio immunization Programme scheduled on 20th of January 2013, so that not even a single child under five years of age is left out. Special focus would be laid on slum areas and Gujjar and Bakerwal bastis, the meeting informed. He informed that the estimated population of the children below five years in all the health blocks of Jammu comes to be 231030 for which 1257 vaccination booths have been established. Chief Medical Officers Jammu, Block Medical Officers, officers from Education and Social Welfare attended the meeting. |
