MC Lakhanpur foils bid of encroachment 1/15/2013 11:59:28 PM EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Jan 15: Continuing its drive against the illegal encroachments, Municipal Committee Lakhanpur with the help of police foiled a bid of encroachment of government land removing illegal kiosks i.e. wooden shop alongside the "Ravi canal" at Lakhanpur here today. The drive was initiated following protests from people who were demanding the removal of illegal encroachment of the canal which belongs to Irrigation Department. Locals have alleged that some businessmen are eyeing on government land and many have encroached huge speared of government land in Lakhanpur.
