SRINAGAR, Jan 15: Indian Air Force today airlifted in separate sorties as many as 80 stranded passengers between Bandipora and snow-bound Gurez in north Kashmir.
While 42 passengers were airlifted from Bandipora to Dawar and Baduab in Gurez, 38 passengers were airlifted from Dawar and Baduab to Bandipora town, an official spokesperson said.
Gurez tehsil near the Line of Control (LoC) was cut off from rest of the Valley earlier this month following heavy snowfall.
Meanwhile, the said AN-32 Kargil Courier flight between Kargil in frontior region of Ladakh and the twin capitals of Srinagar and Jammu could not take off from Chandigarh due to technical reasons.
"Subject to favourable weather conditions, the Kargil Courier will operate tomorrow," he added.
