JAMMU, Jan 15: Organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, the annual inter-college kho-kho (men and women) competitions shall start at different venues, here tomorrow.
While men's kho-kho event shall take place at University of Jammu grounds, the competition in women section shall be conducted at Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar.
In women's category, 22 teams have been placed in the already drawn fixture as per their last year standings. The defending champion, GCW Gandhi Nagar and runners-up, GCW Parade as also eight other teams have been given bye in the first round. However, six matches have been scheduled for the opening day tomorrow.
On the other hand, 21 teams are taking part in men's kho-kho competition. Similarly, title holders, Government MAM College and runners-up, GDC Udhampur have got bye in the first round. Five matches have been scheduled for the first day of the competition. |
