| LMD penalizes 9 traders with Rs.13,000 | | | JAMMU, Jan 19: The field executives of Legal Metro-logy (LM) Department under the supervision of Dy Controller Consumer Protection Jammu, V S Sambyal conducted surprise inspection at Malik Market, Warehouse, Nar-wal and Railway Station and detected 10 traders violating the different provisions of J&K Weights and Measures (enf) Act-1997.
All the defaulting traders were booked under relevant provision of the Act by Inspector Legal Metrology Jammu. The challans of nine traders were compounded on spot for Rs.13,000/- and the composition money was recovered from the defaulters.
The department has further instructed the manufacturers to pack items in standard packs as per packaged commodities rules. |
