| Post reshuffle, tempers yet to pacify with 'ignored' lot | | Changing of loyalties on cards within Congress…? | | ET Report Jammu, Jan 19: Post reshuffle and expansion exercise that was effected by the coalition in J&K, the political jerks and shocks experienced in the quarters ignored by both National Conference and Congress are now taking unpleasant turn , not merely by the incessant protests and demonstration of anger but the actions and interactions that indicate some more developments on anvil in the political spectrum of State. Spitting of venom is what can be termed that is being seen in close door meetings held in groups by the 'ignored' lot, something which is being loaded with mood of changing loyalties by leaders divided in two factions of Congress. Sources said the 'disgruntled' MLAs whose expectations were more than high for getting a berth in the Council of Ministers both from Congress and NC are seen grouping together, holding informal meetings at residential bungalows during which the 'moves' played by the stalwarts by way of adjusting people of their choice, are being discussed in length with loads of criticism against the 'high ups ' who were instrumental in making the final lists. Sources said some MLAs are not even shying from hurling virtual abuses against the 'stalwarts', for having ditched them and leaving them in lurch. The anger is more pointed within the Congress 'camp', against Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, sources said adding that atleast two legislators are terribly upset what they now talk openly as 'misleading' and false assurances given to them even a day before the reshuffle was effected. While the uttering of MLAs openly in these meetings is being seen as venting out anger and outburst, the follow up strategy for future discussed by some MLAs, no matter in anger, can unfold as 'unexpected ' steps by way of shifting affiliations and loyalties in the two factions of Congress which were hitherto firm with respective stalwarts. Even as this is being discussed in serious manner, with some of the option of even parting with the party at this stage is not ruled out, sources said adding that a couple of them, though senior have given ample indications on this account. However, since the move may not fructify , given the fact that timing and mood in public may not go in favour, besides the big factor of elections both Parliament and Assembly polls not so far now. However, the content of the discussions in these ongoing meetings in the aftermath of reshuffle, reflects that within the Congress all is certainly not fine and tempers are not going to pacify so soon. How will the stalwarts address this unrest and anger remains to be seen. |
