| Panthers to fight against corruption, criminalization | | | early times report Jammu, Jan 19: An emergency meeting of the core group of National Panthers Party (NPP) was held here to review the prevailing political situation in the state in the backdrop of alleged rising corruption and criminalization being openly patronized by the ruling parties. The meeting was presided by the MLA Harsh Dev Singh while NPP Chief Patron Prof Bhim Singh, Vice-President S Daljit Singh, State General Secretaries, Yash-paul Kundal MLA, Anita Thakur, H C Jalmeria and NPP President and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia were present in the meeting through video conferencing. The meeting decided to hold state convention of the Young Panthers on Febru-ary 10 at 10 am at Brahmin Sabha, Parade Ground, here. An Organizing Committee under the chairmanship of MLC Syed Mohammad Rafiq Shah was also constituted. It was also decided to hold state convention of National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) on February 17. An Organizing Commi-ttee under the leadership of Partap Singh Jamwal (State President NPSU) and Provincial President, Virender Thakur was also constituted. 15 Members shall be added in the committee by the organizers. The core group also gave green signal to hold state women convention on March 3. An organizing committee under Anita Thakur was constituted. The core group gave a clear signal that the NPP shall not make any electoral alliance with any political party in the state in the forthcoming Assembly elections. The party leadership also appealed to all those who had contributed to the Panthers Party in the past to return actively into the Party in order to hasten the process of reorganization of the State in the interest of the people of all the regions. The meeting said that the Civil Secretariat shall continue functioning at both the places, Srinagar and Jammu in the interest of the general public, both in the Kashmir Valley and in Jammu. The Panthers Party decided to move the Supreme Court of India against the "discriminatory and draconian" ordinance for the new recruitment. The Party also demanded regularization of all contractual employees as well as regularization all those working as SPOs and ReT teachers for more than five years. |
