Saahil Suhail Kulgam, Jan 19: Day after early times brought into the notice of district administration about the panic among the residents of Waltangoo-Naad Kulgam due to the inclement weather conditions, the district administration in active association of Police and Army evacuated 36 families from the danger zone to safer places. As per official sources, the rescue cum evacuation operation was carried by Kulgam police and 9 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) jointly with personal presence of Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Jahangir Ahmad Mir on the spot. The rescue team evacuated the members of 36 families to the safer areas, sources added "As some families still at Waltangoo-Naad have refused to leave their homes, the administration has assured and decided to monitor the situation time to time with the changing moods of the weather, they added. Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, when contacted confirmed that the 36 families have been sifted to safer places. "As a precautionary measure especially following warning from weather man about the inclement weather administration in assistance with police and Army have shifted 36 families from Waltengo Nard to newly constructed colony at Wasaknag," he added. He also mentioned that all the basic amenities including ration, power, water and beddings were made available to them at present. DC Kulgam said, he had directed all the officers to remain alert and redress the public grievances on priority bases. |
