1/19/2013 11:54:45 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 19: Demanding due representation to Mahajan community in the Council of Ministers, the Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha (ABMSS) expressed dismay over the fact that the community which comprises of the population of more than 50 lakh in J&K State was totally ignored in the recent cabinet reshuffle.
In a meeting of ABMSS held under the chairmanship of its General Secretary, Kailash Kumar Langer met today to take stock of the situations arising out of the recent cabinet reshuffle.
On the occasion, members opined that Mahajans belong to elite class of society who are highly educated and law abiding people adding that Mahajans have excelled in every field of life whether it is field of services, Business, Politics or Social activism. They further said that right since Maharajas rule, they had been occupying important and significant positions in the ruling dispensation. To name a few Sher-e-Duggar Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan, Lala Dina Nath Mahajan, Hemraj Jandial, Janak Raj Gupta, Prof.
Chaman Lal Gupta, Om Mehta and others. But it is unfortunate that since last many years our community is being ignored so far as giving due representation in the state government.
Members present resolved to approach the Chief Minister with a memorandum requesting him that keeping in view the services, sacrifices and sincerity due representation to the community may be given in the Council of Ministers.
