Health department ready for immunization

Kathua, Jan 19: More than 89000 children up to five years age are expected to be covered in Kathua district as part of the nationwide pulse polio programme on January 20. Oral polio vaccine will be administered in 562 booths spread all over the district, Ajay Khajuria Chief Medical Officer, Kathua informed media. "Near about 2300 employees comprising ASHA worker, Aganwari workers, and other health employees with 112 supervisors to supervise the activities of the booths are also deployed by the health department of Kathua in order to ensure that each and every child is covered in the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme" he said. Further said, "It was a great achievement that no single polio case was reported since 2010, there should be no let up and house to house coverage for administering the vaccine will be taken up by the teams on day two, three and four."
