Jammu, Feb 22: J&K chapter of Central Government Pensioners' Association attended the 22nd meeting of standing committee of voluntary agencies (SCOVA), held at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of V. Narayanasamy, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office with representatives from 15 nominated across the country and officers of all concerned, ministries including Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Finance, Defence, Railways, Health & Family Welfare. Central Government Pensioners' Welfare Association, J&K (CGPWA) was represented by its President S.S.Wazir in the high power committee related to the problems and welfare of the pensioners. Wazir projected the problems at CGHS Dispensary/Wellness Centre Jammu which was inaugurated way back on 4th June, 2008; but still lacks the requisite infrastructural facilities. "Computerization and issuance of plastic cards at CGHS Wellness Centre are the urgent needs, besides empanelment of hospitals, diagnostic centres and chemists at Jammu and also at Srinagar he said, adding that the OPD facilities at the Centre have since been commissioned from 7th September, 2012 for central pensioners and family pensioners. He further said that SCOVA has been proving very helpful forum with regard to welfare measures for central government pensioners. |
