| Can Omar deport Geelani, Malik? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 22: The deporting of VHP leader Parveen Togadia by the State Government exposes both its duplicity and also its failure in handling a possible law and order situation. The Chief Minister defending the decision to send back Parveen Togadia had said the people should realize that his earlier visit had created law and order problem resulting in curfew in Rajouri last year. The CM was here also selective by not writing about the police brutality in handling the situation, when cops barged into the houses and destroyed every thing resulting in more tension and eventual transfer of both SP and DC of the district. Had the administration handled the situation in a sagacious manner the perceived 'volatile' situation after Togadia's alleged remarks wouldn't turned into violent protest, which resulted in imposition of curfew. The second fact, CM didn't say was that if he is so serious about law and order problem getting disturbed by even the entry of an individual, then by that logic he shouldn't have allowed separatists Mirwaiz Farooq to enter the State. Even though, he had been put under house arrest, but the fact that his presence in Kashmir, has the potential of disturbing peace, if he starts giving call for more strike. Omar Abdullah by the same logic should permanently debar hardline separatists Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani from entering the State, atleast for one year, as his presence has more potential of disturbing the peace than the presence of Togadia. The CM by the same logic should also forcefully stop Geelani from issuing calendar of protest, which he had been doing regularly making a mockery of entire administration and also inciting cycle of violence. If the CM is so serious about law and order problem, then he should immediately deport Yasin Malik on his arrival to Srinagar as he had shared the dias with the dreaded terrorist Hafiz Sayeed. Omar should even have the audacity to appeal to the Home Ministry to get him arrested. The fact remains that he can only get the Hindu leader arrested and not the separatists and that's where he had to prove the point that he is serious in handling law and order situation. |
