Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 22: A team of officers and officials of District Office, Pollution Control Board Jammu led by District Officer, J&K SPCB, T S Chib conducted surprise checks and raids of various business establishments in and around Gandhi Nagar locality and imposed fine of Rs 4500 to a karyana store for using polythene. According to officials, during the field inspection the PCB team also imposed and collected a fine of Rs 4500/- from defaulter and violator namely Jain Karyana store at Shivaji Chowk. Showkat Chowdhary, Regional Director, PCB, Jammu who is closely monitoring the working of Anti-Polythene Squad through media appealed the general public to abstain from using polythene bags as it has been completely banned in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He on behalf of J&K SPCB, Jammu requests the citizens to comply with rules and co-operate in making Jammu a Polythene free city. |
