Local youth must be employed in power projects: Saroori

Drabshallah, Kishtwar Feb 22: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Inderwal G M Saroori advocated the engagement of local unemployed youths of district Kishtwar in upcoming power projects to be constructed in Chenab valley including Rattle, Bursar, Pakaldool, Karthai and Keru. Saroori also demanded free electricity to the people living in the areas where the projects will be constructed. He said the managements of these power projects had already been agreed to absorb local youth on 80 per cent posts.
Addressing public gatherings at Drabshalla, Keshwan, Sirgwar, Mang-thala, Shana & Feller, Saroori said that the people of erstwhile Doda were given special attention and government's development programme would definitely transform the socio-economic status of the people living in remote areas of the district.
He said that measures have been initiated to ensure that every family, living below poverty line, could get a shelter under IAY and un-electrified villages will get electricity under RAMSA. Saroori distributed Rs 35.20 lakhs worth cheques among beneficiaries of BRGF & IAY at Drabshallah & Rs.2.50 lakhs for the dairy farm at Thakrie. Saroori asked the engineers and all executing agencies to speed up and ensure timely completion of the projects. Later at Saroori residence son of former block president NC, Ghulam

Mohammad Iqbal Keen, Mohammad Aslam Saroori, Bashir Hajam, Akhtar Hussain Tatani, Ramnath, Hesraj, Gian Chand, Captain Jagdish, Mohd Yusuf Shah, Krishan Lal Anjole, Fakir Chand, Ghulam Moham-mad, Basher Ahmed, Ronak Singh, Abdul Jabbar Sirgwari and Offi-cers of various department accompanied Saroori during the said tour.
