| Dr Naheed shares her experiences | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 22: Shanti Gupta Centre for Women Studies organized a programme "Sharing of Exper-iences" in which Managing Director (JKWDC) Dr. Naheed Soz, was resource person. According to press release, in the beginning of programme a latest issue of wall magazine on the topic "Women Rights and Equality" was inaugurated. While sharing views, Dr. Soz said that she could excel in her life as her family always supported her and she was never considered inferior in comparison to her brothers. She told that women empowerment was an untouched topic in reality. "There may be women in important positions, but only a handful of them have been delegated with proper responsibilities, that is why a lot needs to be done to bring women forward in every sector" she said. She further added that women empowerment could be achieved through means such as SHG culture, Entrepreneurship, Government functionaries, Special package for girl child,Rural Health mission etc. She also distributed participation certificates to the students who had successfully completed the15 days UGC sponsored certificate course on the topic "Women and technology" organized by the centre. A formal Vote of thanks was presented by Monika Rathore, coordinater CWS. Compering was done by Kaveri, a student of B.Ed. |
