| Rev officials, scrap dealer booked for tampering land record | | | early times report
Jammu, Feb 22: Police today booked revenue officials and a Channi Himmat based scrap dealer for tampering of the revenue record and land grabbing here today and a case stands registered at police station Jajjar Kotli u/s 447,420,467,468 and 472 RPC against FIR 13/2012.
Police sources sharing information said the scrap dealer has been identified namely as Jasbir Singh alias Tota Kabari son of Saran Singh. They added that revenue officials booked are allegedly involved in changing mutation record are yet to be identified as police is scrutinizing the record.
Police registered the case following the complaint lodged by one Kaka Ram son of Shankar Das of Sakaiter who in his complaint had alleged that a piece of 19 kanal of land situated in Sakaiter, actually belonging to him has been grabbed by one Tota Kabari.
The complainant further said when he approached to revenue department to his surprise he was told that revenue record has been fudged/tempered. When contacted to SHO Jajjar Kotli Sajjad Ahmed confirming the reports said that during preliminary investigation the revenue record was found tempered somewhere in the year 2002 and 2003. SHO Jajjar Kotli further said that revenue record is being scrutinized to fix the responsibility on revenue officials responsible for the offence. |
