DODA: With the aim to create awareness among the people especially artisan community in the region, District Handicraft Office Doda today organized an awareness camp at Bhella. Handicraft Department Field functionaries including Mr. Qasim –ud-Din, Mr. Zafferullah Tak, Mr. Rashid Ramzan, Mr. Suchet Singh besides large gathering of people, Sarpanches and Panches of the region attended the programme. While speaking on the occasion, Garbi Rashid Dar Assistant Director, Handicraft Doda asked the artisans and youth to come forward to avail benefits of various welfare schemes of the Department and adopt Handicrafts as a career prospective. He apprised the artisans about departmental schemes launched for their upliftment and skill development. While addressing the gathering, Mr. Qasim –ud-Din and Mr. Zafferullah Tak Handicrafts Training Officers explained the schemes launched by the department, such as Micro Enterprised scheme, Self Help Group, insurance policy to improve the socio-economic condition of the women folk living in the rural areas. It was also informed that the loan assistance is being provided to the Artisans for setting up of the income generating Units for their livelihood. Sarpanches also spoke on the occasion and stressed the rural women folk to take the benefit of the schemes launched by the department and set up their income generation Units for their socio-economic development. |
