| Govt committed to provide facilities at door steps: Vikar | | | BANIHAL: Coalition government is committed to upgrade the standard of living of both urban and rural masses by strict implementation of developmental and welfare schemes launched by the central and State Governments from time to time. This was stated by the Minister of State for Technical Education and Power, Vikar Rasool while addressing a gathering of various deputations at Dak Bunglow Banihal yesterday. The deputations of various areas of Banihal which includes Sherbeebi, seenabati, Shaghun, Khari, Mandvas, Chambalvas, Trehgam, Surachi, Mohumangat, Pogulparistan, Maaligam, and Nowgam had come to apprise the Minister about various problems confronting them. Vikar said that the government is abreast with the problems being faced by the people living in hilly and far-flung areas of the State and every care is being taken to address the same within the shortest possible time. He said that the instructions have already been passed to the concerned officers to ensure that the people get the requisite supply of food items, power, water and other essentials commodities. The Minister accompanied by the senior officers of PWD Department later inspected the construction work of Industrial Training Institute at Nowgam Banihal, under execution at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.48 crore. He directed the officers to speed up the pace of construction work for facilitating the people at earliest. Vikar urged the people to cooperate with the local administration by paying their power bills regularly. He stressed upon the Panchayat representatives to come forward for the development of their area by raising the demands and problems being faced by the people of that area before the government. He asked the Sarpanches and panches to monitor the development work and other social benefit schemes launched by the various departments both state and centrally sponsored for the welfare of the masses. The deputations further projected the demands of filling up of vacant posts in schools, health centres so that they can work more efficiently besides demanding road connectivity to various areas of Banihal and opening of more health centres, Animal and Sheep Husbandry centres for the area. The Minister assured them that all their genuine demands would be looked into and redressed at an earliest. |
