JAMMU: A two days camp organized by Army under its 'Student Exchange and Leadership Programme' concluded today at Kalalkote . The camp which began yesterday was aimed to inculcate team spirit and leadership qualities. Twenty students from KC Public School, Jammu along with same number of students from various government schools from Kalakote tehsil, district Rajouri attended the camp. During the camp, various competitions in team events, like obstacle race, skit, extempore speech, trekking etc were organised for the students. Besides this, students also had glimpses of life in the army and were also given an exposure to various weapons and equipment used by the rmy and Air Force at nearby radar station. Army also took them to coal mines at Mehtka and provided them an opportunity to see excavation of coal which was a first time experience for the children. Army also facilitated an opportunity of mutual learning, experience of team building and evolved leadership qualities in the children during the group tasks. "Many students have a first time experience of camping in tents as well as survival techniques in which they had to cook for themselves in teams within scarce resources," said Col Swain Commanding officr 60 RR. Sonia Thakur, Creative Head, KC Public School Jammu said, "It was indeed a life time opportunity for all the students. Undoubtedly the camp was a complete package of adventure, thrill, excitement and camaraderie. We are taking back with us an enriched lot of students charged with potential to do well in life within ethical limits".
