SRINAGAR: The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today visited Tujgari Mohalla, Malkah, Nowhatta and distributed relief cheques under Chief Minister’s Relief Fund among 19 fire victims of Tujgari Mohalla whose houses gutted in fire last month. An amount of Rs. 30,000 was given to each family whose houses damaged fully and Rs. 20,000 to those damaged partially. Addressing the gathering present on the occasion, the Minister said that the Government headed by Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people especially downtrodden and the poor. The Minister later visited Cable Car Project in Makhdoom Sahib reviewed the progress of the project. He was informed that the project shall be thrown open for public in next month. Mr. Sagar while expressing satisfaction over the construction of project said that this will provide great benefits to the devotees visiting the Shrine of Sultan-ul-Arifeen (RA) besides tourist. He said this will also provide employment avenues to the unemployed youth of the area. Among others, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director Tourism, Mr. Talat Parvaiz, senior officers of Cable Car Corporation and concerned officers were also present on the occasion. |
