Peerzada for blending curriculum with moral education

JAMMU: Minister for Haj, Auqaf and Floriculture, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed today underscored the need for blending curriculum with moral and religious education so that the moral values get boosted in the Society.
The Minister was speaking at a Seerat Conference, organized by Madarassa Al-Islamia Darul-Uloom, at Gujjar Nagar, to honour 8 students of this Madarass, who had hafiz the Holy Quran.
Peerzada said that the Government is contemplating the implementation of Madarassa Act in the state on the analogy of Uttar Pardesh, Bihar and other neighbouring States so that such schools in the State become entitled for financial assistance from the Minority Commission of India.
The Minister said that focused attention is being given for protection of Auqaf property, adding that repair of Wakf buildings and construction of four walls of graveyards is a step towards this. He said that Auquf Management would be strengthened by increasing manpower in the organization.
With a view to protect Wakf property, Peerzada said that Revenue Department has already passed directions to all the District Administrations for making necessary entries of Wakf land and buildings, Shrines, Ziyarts and Graveyards in the revenue record and preparation of an updated inventories of all such properties, adding that exercise in this regards would be completed within two months.
The Minister announced Rs. 5 lakh for construction of additional rooms and library for the Madarasa Darul-Uloom, Gujjar Nagar, Jammu.
Responding to demand of Darul- Uloom Management regarding transfer of adjacent piece of land to the School, the Minister directed Administrator, Auqaf Islamia, Jammu to take up the matter with the District Administration.
The Minister complimented the students and teachers who had taught them Holy Quran.
Earlier, the Minister honoured the Hafizs by Dastarbandi, presenting cloth and a copy of Holy Quran as a mark of respect. These eight Hafizs were from Udhampur, Gool, Basantgarh, Samba and Billawar.
Various religions personalities addressed the gathering and highlighted the preaching of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Among others, former- minister Choudhary Lal Mohammad Sabir, Administrator, Auqaf Islamia, Jammu, Mr. Raj Mohammad Malik, Special Officer, Auqaf, Jammu, besides Imams of various Mosques, prominent citizens and students of the Madarassa were present on the occasion.
