RAMBAN: Minister of State for Power and Information, Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani has said that efforts would be made to explore the tourism potential of Mahu Mangat in Banihal besides bringing it on the tourism map of the country. The Minister was addressing at a public gathering after conducting aerial visit of Banihal and other hilly areas. The Minister said that Government is working on the projects to exploit the potential of tourist attractive destination by way of creating requisite tourism related infrastructures at identified places. Mr Vikar said that work on 45 MW power project on Khadi Nallah at Mahu Mangat will be started soon while all the ongoing road and power projects will be completed during current fiscal. He said efforts are on to organize special police recruitment drive in the area and assured people that all hilly and far flung areas would be provided road network. Earlier public representatives apprised the Minister which includes road connectivity from Khari to Mahu, Bhaihal to Mangat, electrification of Mahumangat area, renewal of ration cards, new water supply schemes, residential quarters for doctors in PHC, Mahu power receiving station more solar lights, old pension scheme etc. Principal Secretary PDC, Mr. Basharat Ahmad Dar, Chief Engineer PDD, Shehnaz Goni, Panchs and Sarpanchs, districts officer of various department of Ramban attended the meeting. |
