DGP lays foundation of crime branch complex at Sheikhpora Budgam

SRINAGAR: The Director General of Police (DGP) Mr. Ashok Parsad has called for perspective planning in infrastructural development, keeping in view the future requirements of the police organization. He said a holistic plan has to be envisaged for police housing and office accommodation of the organization.
Mr. Parsad was speaking at a function organized by the Police Housing Corporation in connection with foundation stone laying ceremony of seven story building complex for J&K Crime Headquarter Branch at Sheikhpora, in Budgam district this afternoon.
Mr. Parsad said that the works have been executed by the J&K Police Housing Corporation under the modernization and alternate accommodation programme of the Police organization. He said under the programme, various constructions works have been taken up in nook and corner of each district of the State with special focus to meet the requirements of Jawans and officers working in different areas of the State.
Mr. Parsad stressed upon the officers and executing agencies, who were present on the occasion, to ensure utilization of quality material in the construction works. He appreciates the works executed by Police Housing Corporation and Engineers of Police Construction Division for completing the works in record period of time. He also enjoined upon them to complete the ongoing all other works expeditiously to suffice the accommodation requirements of the police organization.
The Managing Director of Police Hosing Corporation, Mr. Dilbagh Singh, IG Crime, Mr. S. J. M Geelani and executive engineer, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Bhat explained the drawing plan of the building to the DGP. He was informed that the building is spread over the four kanals of the land at a cost of Rs. 10.50 crore.
Among others IGP Kashmir Mr. A. G. Mir, DIsGP, Mr. ND Wani, Mr. Afadul Mujtaba, Sheikh Abdul Hamid, SSsP, Syed Ashiq Hussian Bukhari, Mr. Uttam Chand and Syed Kifyat Hyder Razvi besides other police officers were present on the occasion.
