Dr Manohar conducts extensive tour of Billawar
Holds Public Grievance Camp at Bhaiya, Billawar

Kathua: With an aim to listen the problems of the people at their door steps, Minister of state for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma convened public grievance camps at Bhaiya & Teh HQ Billawar.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said all round development has taken place across the State in recent years, particularly in the far off and hilly areas. He said that Government is committed to provide all the basic amenities to the people, particularly living in rural areas, adding that installing 40 tube wells and construction of 2 check dams in the area has addressed the water scarcity problem.
The minister also announced Rs 1.5 lacs for the renovation of Panchayat Ghar Bhaiya and directed the Sarpanch to submit the estimate of shed for cremation ground.
He announced Rs 3 lacs for the mata mandir and asked the BDO to make the estimate of lanes and drains.
Several deputations from Bhaiya, Garah, Kamaad met the Minister and apprised the minister about their difficulties which included blacktopping of Bhaiya link road, Bhaiya-Sad road, hand-pump near radha krishan mandir, besides 100 kw transformer for the area, water supply scheme, shed at cremation ground, veterinary dispensary, and appointment of doctor in dispensary, and opening of one ration sale depot.
ST basti deputation demanded Bhaiya-Kamaad road and tubewell for the area while Gadhyari deputation demanded widening of link road gadhyari.
MP Ch. Lal Singh while speaking on the occasion said government of India is striving hard to make policies and programmes for the welfare of the people to uplift their socio-economic condition. He called upon the people to avail benefit of central sponsored schemes . He also announced Rs 5 lacs for historic mata mandir at Bhaiya.
MLC Subash Chander Gupta while addressing people said that central government is providing liberal funding to the state for the development and welfare schemes .He said the demand of model village for bhaiya is genuine as the village bhaiya needs special attention.
At Teh HQ Billawar a similar camp was also organised to listen the problems of the people where.
Doel deputataion put forth the demand of hand pump whereas Koug sarpanch demanded blacktopping of 5.75 km koug road, shortage of staff at middle and high school of his panchayat. Sarpanch Surara demanded funds for the middle school building Mooni deputation demanded mobile school for bakerwal basti, Dhannu parole Sarpanch raised issue of shortage of staff at sub centre, Dungara deputation demanded upgradation of primary school while Phinter Sarpanch apprised the minister about the unsafe building of middle school phinter and demanded new building for the school. He also projected the demand of blacktopping of remaining stretch of phinetr- beril road.
Dr Sharma after hearing to the demands of the people instructed concerned officers to address the genuine demands of the people on priority basis. He said government is keen to strengthen the panchayats so that benefit of development will reach to every part of the State.
Among others ex MLA Kanta Andotra, SDM Billawar Vikas Gupta officers of several departments and large number of people were also present on the occasion.
