Jammu, Apr 14 : National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) on Sunday demanded release of 8 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) and merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay and pension for both Central and State Government employees and pensioners. Addressing NMC workers rally here today, the speakers pointed out that DA already crossed the mark of 72 percent of basic pay/pension and merger of 50 percent had become due. They urged upon Central government to take decision in this regard during the next meeting of union cabinet so that confusion and uncertainty among the employees and pensioners on this vital issues were removed once for all. Referring to the genuine demands of daily wagers/casual labour and seasonal labour working in the various Government departments, they said that wages would be raised to Rs 10,000 per month besides regularizing their services as the cost of living has gone up due to price hike. Others who were present during the occasion included Sharma, Sunil Kochhar, Anil Singh Salthia, Barkat Ram, Subash Sharma, Dalip Bhagat, Vijay Bhagat, Rakesh Padha, Sukhdev Singh, Karan Singh, Kamaljit, Kamal Kumar, Vijay Sharma and others. |
