| Baisakhi Heritage Festival enters second day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 13 : Documentary on Mubarak Mandi Complex and coronation of Maharaja Hari Singh was the main attraction on the second day of three day Baisakhi Festival jointly organized by Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society and Department of Tourism. MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria was the chief guest on the second day of festival. He lighted the tradition lamp on the occasion. During the festival the State's rich cultural heritage and unity in diversity would be showcased through art and culture. The lighted Mubarak Mandi complex on Baisakhi has become star attraction of the city. Speaking on the occasion, MLA highlighted the importance of the day and said that day marks the beginning of New Year and start of the harvest season. Cultural Bonanza was also organized at Mansar as a part of Baisakhi festival which was highly appreciated by the audience. At Jeo Potha Ghat Akhnoor, cultural programmes were presented in which Chairman JCC Bank Mohinder Singh was the chief guest and President Prathyan Vikas Mandal Ravi Mahajan was the guest of honour. At Surinsar, Dangal was organized witnessed by large number of people. Cash award of Rs. 5000 was also given to the winner. Art Exhibition by Srijan Samooh features paintings and works of eight local artists namely Chetna, Ch. Sunder, Dr. Raj Kumar, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Mr. M.A. Alnasir, Mr. Subash Langeh, Mr. Vijay Anand and Mr. Virji Sumbli. A five day miniature Basholi Painting Camp is also attracting art lovers in large number at Mubarak Mandi Complex.
