SRINAGAR: To take stock of the implementation of CAP project under Himayat in the twin districts of Srinagar and Ganderbal, Advisor to Prime Minister, Mr. T.K. A. Nair visited various CAP Centres here today. Interacting with the students of these Centres, Mr. Nair expressed satisfaction over the implementation of the project. Among others, Commissioner-Secretary, Rural Development, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Peer, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Mr. Itrat Hussain Rafique and Director, JKEDI, Dr. Mohammad Ismail Parray accompanied. Later, the Advisor to the Prime Minister visited IL&FS Skills School, Ganderbal where threadbare discussions were held for successful implementation of the project. It was given out that the retention of Himayat trained youth has improved significantly and during the current financial year, as many as 19,000 youth shall be trained under Himayat and the number of training centres in J&K is expected to increase upto 65. Pertinently Himayat is a placement linked training initiative taken by the Government of India on the recommendations of the Ranga Rajan Committee Report and is being implemented through the Union Ministry of Rural Development. |
