| Ganderbal DH to get Blood Bank Unit soon: Health Minister | | ‘Work on Rs.52.55 cr new Hospital building apace’ | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 16: Minister of State for Health, Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan has said that the district Hospital Ganderbal would soon have a Blood Bank Unit, while a ramp would be constructed in Indoor Patients Department for the convenience of the patients. The Minister during his surprise visit to the Hospital last evening directed Director Health Services to initiate necessary steps to create these facilities. He said a Sick Neonatal care unit and Generic Drug Store would be also opened in the Hospital. During the surprise inspection, the Minister expressed dismay over mismanagement in the functioning of the Hospital and directed Director Health Services, Kashmir to call an explanation from the Block Medical Officer. He said that the government would not tolerate mismanagement, indiscipline and warned strict action against the negligent staff. The Health Minister, while taking stock of the functioning of the Hospital, interacted with the patients and enquired about the medicare facilities provided to them in the hospital. He went round each section of the Hospital and directed the concerned to provide all available diagnostic facilities to the patients. He also instructed for maintaining proper sanitation in and around the Hospital premises and stressed on providing quality healthcare to the patients. Commissioner/Secretary Health and Medical Education, Mr. M K Dwivedi, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr.Saleem-ul-Rehman and Director National Rural Health Mission, Dr. Yashpal Sharma accompanied the Minister during the tour. The Health Minister also reviewed the status of work on the new Ganderbal Hospital Building coming up at an estimated cost of Rs.52. 55 crore. He was apprised that the three- story structure has been raised up to slab level, while Rs.11.75 crore stands expended till last fiscal. Health Minister directed the executing agency to ensure time bound completion of the Hospital Complex by using quality material. He also called for judicious use of funds adding that Rs 5crore has been allocated for the project for this financial year. He directed concerned authorities to make frequent field visits to Health project sites in the area to ensure time bound completion. |
