Inclusive, sustained development Govt’s priority: Sagar

JAMMU: Maintaining that the present government believes in inclusive and overall development of the state with no place for preferential treatment, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr Ali Mohammad Sagar today said “We do not believe in divisive politics but have always projected the cause of the state”.
The Minister was addressing a huge gathering at Vijaypur after laying the foundation of District Training Centre (DTC) being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 72.43 lakhs by the Rural development Department.
MLA Vijaypur, Mr Surjit Singh Slathia, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Mr Mubarak Singh, Director Rural Development Jammu, Mr Shafiq Ahmad Raina and other senior officers of various departments, besides Panchs and Sarpanches of the area were present.
Mr Sagar said “It is recorded history that we have always stood for the secular principles and the interest of people of the state and in this regard we have rendered innumerable sacrifices. The people of the state are aware of the historical role of the late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah who always championed the cause of secularism and the interests of the state without caring for other things”, the Minister maintained.
Terming the medium of dialogue as the only solution to solve various disputes, the Minister said that the government right from the day one has been advocating talks for solving various issues confronting the state. He said that history stands testimony to the fact that various vexed issues across the world have been solved through the process of dialogue.
The Minister, while referring to various schemes like Himayat, Udan and Umeed launched by the government for creating employment avenues for the youth of the state, said besides these 20 power projects are also on anvil which would further help to generate employment avenues for the youth.
MLA Vijapur, Mr Slathia, while referring to various initiatives taken by the government for ensuring need-based and sustained development, said that special focus has been laid to ensure completion of the projects within stipulated time-frame to ensure that the benefits reach to the people at the earliest.
