| Radhay Sham listens to farmers’ grievances | | | JAMMU: Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans Shri Radhay Sham today held a meeting with the farmers associated with floriculture and listened to their problems. Director Floriculture and progressive florists, including Tajinder Singh Wazir apprised the Vice Chairman about the activities of the department and the methods adopted to achieve the target for promotion of Floriculture in Jammu province. Among other things, the farmers demanded installation and replacement of worn out Irrigation pumps in Kandi areas, revival of National Vegetable Development initiative project , establishment of branch of any bank enabling the woman farmers to deposit their saving at village Kattal in Nagrota area, Tax exemption on vermin-compost kits, poly green houses. The Vice Chairman assured the farmers that he will take up the matters with the concerned quarters and see that the problems being faced by farmers are mitigated at the earliest. He further stated that in today’s modern Agriculture, the use of poly greenhouses has become very significant but due to heavy cost and taxes, the farmers of the State are unable to afford these. He stated that he has already taken up the issue of abolition of all kinds of taxes on Poly Greenhouses and its accessories with the Finance Minister and he was sure that the same will be done and all the problems are resolved within a shortest span of time. |
