| Shabir lays foundation of Panchayat Ghar Dehri-ralyote | | ‘BPL families of 10 districts to get insurance health cover under RSBY’ | | Early Times REport
JAMMU, Apr 19: Minister of State for Health, Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan today laid foundation of Panchayat Ghar, Dehri-ralyote in Rajouri. The construction of Panchayat Ghar would be completed at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh during current financial year and after completion it would provide better accommodation facility to Panches and Sarpanches of the area for undertaking day to day public interest dealings. Addressing a public meeting after laying foundation of Panchayat Ghar, the Minister said the initiatives taken by the government during the past four years towards bringing accountability and transparency in the administration is worth appreciating. He said holding of Panchayat elections, enactment of Right to Information Act and Public Service Guarantee Act is the landmark steps taken by the government in improving governance structure in the state. Reiterating the commitment of the government that to ensure holistic development of all the regions of the State with special focus on border and hilly areas, the Minister said the governments’ pro-people policies and exemplary initiatives have filed the State on the track of peace and prosperity. He affirmed that this tempo would be carried onward with a mission to ensure all-round development of rural as well as border people. Referring to the development of block Manjakot, the Minister said that Rs.4crore is being expended for upgradation of basic facilities in the block during current year under MGNERAGA. He said under BADP Rs 1.02 crore would be spent on various developmental works in the area. He said construction work on water supply scheme Dehri-ralyote would be taken up soon to meet out the water scarcity problem in the area. He said due consideration would be given to upgrade the health care facility in the area. The Minister said that provide health insurance cover to BPL families 10 districts of the State is being brought under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojina (RSBY) adding that Srinagar and Jammu districts was already covered under this Scheme. He said to strengthen the patient transportation facility the purchase of 200 ambulances is in process. He said several steps have been taken to reverse the trend of declining sex ratio and Health Department has dedicated year 2013 to “save the girl child”. Highlighting the priorities under health sector, the Minister said that all such areas having difficult topography would be provided health center facilities. He said in this regard the government has already moved a proposal to the Centre for approval of funds. The Minister said that under the flagship programme of National Rural Health Mission, a whooping amount of Rs.333.65 crore have been provided for constructionand up-gradation of various health institutions against which over Rs.274 crore have been incurred for the purpose in the State. Interacting with several deputations during his tour to Manjakot Block, the Minister reaffirmed that being the local representative equal development of all the areas of the district was my priority and no injustice would be done to any area of the district on the developmental front. He assured the people that all their genuine developmental needs would be carry out in a phased manner. He also impressed upon the officers to solve the peoples genuine. The Minister said that people fastened their hopes with public representatives and asked the Panchs and Sarpanchs to work sincerely for welfare and development of the people who gave them their self-assurances. He said that primary responsibility of the public representatives is to go to the people for determining and addressing their problems through Government agencies. He asked people to know their rights and seek due share in development process launched by the Government across the State. |
