DDC Anantnag holds Awami Darbar for Shangus, Achabal

anantnag, Apr 19: A grievance redressal interactive public meeting concerning two townships at Shangus and Achabal was today organised by District Administration Anantnag at Achabal which was chaired by District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Lone. A huge number of valued citizens form Shangus and Achabal participated in the meeting. All the district officers of Anantnag were face to face interacting with the public.
During the darbar, citizens of the concerned townships raised various demands and sought solution of various problems being faced by them. The matters raised by the people of Achabal were a Sub District Hospital and separate Tehsil for Achabal, providing of drinking water from the Kokernag Water Supply Scheme to Achabal locality, repairing and operationalization of street lights, more funds for the overall development of Achabal NAC, expediting the work for construction of Bus Stand, bringing down the selling price of fishes by Fisheries department,
expediting the work on Simthan road and making sanctioned quota of ration and K-oil available by the CA&DP department.
The deputations have put their demands of people of Shangus which required govt's intervention includes initiation of Halqa Bandi in Shangus, repairing and renovation of Dawlat Kohal and Wan Kohal, shifting of Sub-District Hospital to new building and fencing thereof, macadamization of PWD road and improvement in the infrastructure of Higher Secondary School Shangus.
The District Development Commissioner assured people of solving the specified demands in a least possible time and thanked them for maintaining peace, brotherhood and tranquillity in the area. Some of the matters wore resolved on spot for which people extended gratitude towards the administration.
While concluding District Development Commissioner thanked all the respectable citizens for participating in huge number in the meeting and expressed his desire to hold such people friendly meetings again in the future.
On this occasion, a good number of people from media and journalism were also present in the event.
