Sagar convenes divisional level officers meet
Asks for ensuring basic amenities to the people, availability of essentials besides expediting ongoing developmental works

srinagar, Apr 22: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today reiterated the commitment of providing basic amenities and facilitating the people of the State.
This was stated by the Minister during a review meeting convened here today to take stock of the basic amenities and essentials being made available to the people of Valley.
Among others, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Shalindra Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Mr. Abdul Gani Mir, Director Rural Sanitation, Mr. B.A. Bhat, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director CA&PD, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Director Rural Development, Mir Altaf Ahmad, Chief Engineer PHE, Mr. Muzaffar Ahmad Lanker, Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Kashmir, Mr. Shafat Ahmad, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr. G.N. Qasba, Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir, Mr. Anees Ahmad, Joint Director Information, Kashmir, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Khan, Superintending Engineer Power Development Department and DIG Traffic Kashmir attended the meeting. Threadbare discussions were held for the uninterrupted supply of electricity, removing the bottlenecks of road widening, ensuring sanitation and cleanliness in the city, measures for ensuring smooth ply of traffic at Pantha Chowk, HMT, Rambagh and Dalgate crossings besides availability of essentials, home delivery of LPG and medicare facilities were also discussed in the divisional level officers meeting. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir gave a detailed brief of the measures being taken for facilitating the consumers and ensuring availability of adequate supplies of essentials in the Valley. He also informed that the bottlenecks are being removed for ensuring smooth plying of traffic. He also gave out that measures have already been put in to ensure home delivery of LPG, besides, ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
Mr. Kumar also said that for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra, the arrangements have already been made and the roads of the city shall be macadamized soon. The Minister exhorted upon the officers to work with zeal and dedication to mitigate the problems of the people at their doorsteps. He also directed for constituting a joint quality control team to ensure quality of the essentials being made available to the people. He also directed for making the street lights functional, besides improving the drainage system in the city. He also exhorted for expediting ongoing development projects so that the people are benefited by the timely completion of these projects. A large number of deputations from various parts of the Valley also called on the Minister to put forth their demands. The Minister gave them patient hearing and assured that their grievances shall be looked into on priority for early redressal.
