SRINAGAR: Governor Reserve Bank of India, Dr. Subba Rao Wednesday afternoon called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here and discussed RBI initiatives aimed at helping growth and development in Jammu and Kashmir.Matters pertaining to improving Credit Deposit Ratio (CDR), Kissan Credit Cards distribution, agriculture lending, hassle-free flow of credit to budding entrepreneurs, social corporate sector responsibilities by Banks and financial inclusion were discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister emphasized upon enhancing agriculture credit to the farmers and making it easy and timely so that farmers do not feel any difficulty in implementing their agricultural activities. He laid stress on making advances hassle-free for budding entrepreneurs and fully sensitizing Banks in this regard. He also flagged the need for participatory role of Banks in skill development programmes and employability enhancement measures launched by the State Government. |
