Dealers asked not to retain ration cards with them

RAMBAN: In compliance to the notice issued by the Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD), Jammu, the Assistant Director CA&PD, Ramban has directed the ration dealers and incharges of government ration depots of the district to not to retain the ration card of any consumer in their possession, which is highly objectionable and against law. Further, he advised all the consumers and ration card holders keep ration card with them and in case their ration card is lying with the dealers or incharge ration depots, they should lodge a written complaint with any officer of the department. The dealers possessing the ration card will be terminated from dealership.n Sunday, it was decided that the two sides would withdraw from their respective positions simultaneously, they said.
Chinese Army soldiers had intruded 19 km into the Indian territory on April 15 and were in a face-to-face situation with the Indian troops who established a camp at a distance of less than 100 metres from their base.
The two sides agreed to leave the area and restore the situation existing before April 15.
