| Several projects undertaken for beautification, development of Srinagar: Sagar | | | SRINAGAR: Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that the Government has undertaking several projects for ensuring sustained development and beautification of the historic Srinagar city. The Minister was interacting with scores of deputations during his extensive tour of the Srinagar city. Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Srinagar Corporation Dr. G. N. Qasba, Secretary Sports Council, Mr. Dalip Thusoo, Managing Director JKPCC and other senior officers of various departments were accompanied the Minister. Mr. Sagar said that the Government has already formulated comprehensive programme for developing the historic Srinagar city on the heritage pattern, so that it comes up on the heritage tourist map, which would go a long way in boosting the tourism related economic and other activities. He said that “we believe in sustained action rather than misleading people by propagating hypocrisy and falsehood”. “The People should understand that the parties who are projecting themselves as champions of the Srinagar have subjected it to the worst form of discrimination, which has no parallel in the annals of the history. Now, they are trying to mislead the people by spreading lies and trying to undermine the various initiatives taken by the Government for ensuring holistic development of the city”, the Minister maintained. Mr. Sagar also inspected the pace of renovation work on the revered shrine of Dastighir Sahib (RA) and directed the officers to ensure that it is completed within the stipulated time frame. He also complimented the JKPCC for their speedy execution and also hoped that it would be completed in time bound manner. The Minister also inspected the under construction pavilion of the Naqashbandia stadium at Radpora, Khaniyar being constructed by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. He directed the concerned to ensure that it is completed by December this year so that youth of the area can avail the facilities of the same. Mr. Sagar was told that the multistoried pavilion would be having the facilities of gymnasium, table-tennis courts, changing rooms and other related facilities, besides having a sitting capacity of 500 persons. The Minister also inspected the pace of work on the renovation project of Naqashband Sahib and asked the officers to speed up the pace of work on the same and it is competed as early as possible so that it can be dedicated to the devotees coming to offer their obeisance. The Minister also directed the Commissioner Municipal corporation to ensure the proper hygiene of the city and to carry out the construction of public convenience for the use of public and tourists visiting this historic city. |
