KUPWARA, May 10 : To review the various projects being launched in Kupwara district for giving fillip to the agriculture and horticulture activities, a team of experts including Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Dr Tej Partap, Commissioner-Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon visited Chugal, Vailgam, Neegri, Mulberry Nursery here today.
District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Mr. Itrat Hussain Rafique also accompanied the team. Threadbare discussions were held for improving the yield of agriculture and horticulture crops by adopting latest techniques and using high yielding varieties to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people.
The team also identifying the land for setting up of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in the district.
The team also interacted with the orchardists and progressive farmers at Model Orchard-cum-Nursery base Station, Chugal. A number of deputations also called on the team of experts for seeking their valuable suggestions for improving the agriculture and horticulture sectors in the district. |
