SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Shailendra Kumar today stressed for management of available resources and visualise a proactive approach for any eventuality for the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2013.
This was stated by Mr. Kumar while convening a divisional level meeting of officers to take stock of the disaster preparedness plan for SANJAY-2013 here today. Among others, I.G. Police, Mr. A.G. Mir, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Mr. Sarmad Hafeez, Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Mr. M.Y. Zargar, SSP, Srinagar, Mr. Ashiq Hussain, SSP Anantnag, Mr. R.K. Jalla, SP Ganderbal, Mr. Shahid Mehraj, SP Bandipora, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Khan, SP Traffic Rural, Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Dalal, Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority, Mr. Nisar Hussain Wani, Chief Executive Officer, Sonamarg Development Authority, Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Superintending Engineers of various Engineering Wings besides officers of Health, CA&PD and Fire and Emergency Services attended the meeting. Threadbare discussions were held for the disaster preparedness plan for SANJAY-2013 scheduled to commence from June 28, 2013. Division Commissioner Kashmir urged for involving volunteers enroute to Holy Cave to ensure round-the-clock availability of human resources to combat any eventuality for smooth conduct of the Yatra. He said that in an integrated way all the departments shall contribute to their maximum besides creating awareness and imparting trainings especially for natural calamities to the volunteers. He also directed for deployment of rescue teams at the landslide vulnerable areas enroute to Holy Cave from both Pahalgam and Baltal sides. Traffic management plan for hassle free movement of vehicles and to facilitate the yatries were also comprehensively discussed in the meeting. All the three Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag, Ganderbal and Bandipora districts gave a detailed plan for the smooth conduct of Yatra and management of yatries for their accommodation and installation of Langar on the occasion.
