| Lal Singh dedicates modernized Post Office at Reasi | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 15: Member Parliament, Ch. Lal Singh today dedicated modernized Post office to the people of Reasi in the presence of Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle, John Samuel. The Post Office has been modernized under “Project Arrow” launched by the Department of Posts. Lal Singh appreciated the efforts of Chief PMG in development of J&K postal circle on modern lines. He said that J&K Post has witnessed commendable improvement in the recent years under his leadership. He recalled the days when postal services served as the sole means of communication adding that people in rural areas still depend on Post Offices for savings and mail purposes. John Samuel said that in order to facilitate the people of Reasi which is a district Headquarter and nearby localities and the business establishments in Reasi the Post Office has been upgraded to fit into the needs of the people. He said that J&K Postal Circle is ambitiously looking for computerization and modernization of its Post Offices adding that Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle is committed for “Transformation” of Postal Network in the state. John Samuel said 20 Post Offices are being upgraded and modernized with new facilities under ‘Project Arrow’. Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Dr. Shabir Iqbal Khan, also spoke on the occasion. Director Postal Services, J&K, Jagdeep Gupta presented welcome address while Vijay Chowdhary, SPO’s Udhampur Postal Division presented vote of thanks. |
