| Sagar asks officers to speed up developmental programmes | | Inaugurates water testing camp at Rainawari | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, MAY 15- Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has directed the officers to ensure that the comprehensive beautification plan for developing the Srinagar city on the heritage pattern is speeded up. The Minister was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the status of implementation of various developmental programmes undertaken by the government for ensuring the holistic development of Srinagar city. Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Shah, Commissioner SMC, Dr. G. N. Qasba, Chief Engineer R&B, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Chief Engineer PDD, Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed Matoo and other senior officers of different departments were present in the meeting. Mr. Sagar directed the officers to ensure that the road widening from Nowpora to Rainawari on the prestigious Syed Mirakshah road is completed by October end and the necessary acquisitions if any are done as early as possible. He also directed them to hold HLC meetings on regular basis, so that the compensation cases are decided within the shortest possible time. The Minister also directed the officers to ensure that the link road connecting Wazapora and Mirwaiz Manzil road is completed for the convenience of general public. He also asked them to speed up the acquisition of the properties at Zainakadal, so that the beautification project of the area on heritage pattern is speeded up. Mr. Sagar also asked for initiating the requisite steps for the renovation/beautification of Khankahi moulla Shrine for which the funds have already been earmarked. He said that Government is initiating the necessary steps for the proper preservation of the historic place which holds a position of great significance in the history of the state. Interacting with the people, the Minister said that it is endeavour of the government to provide quality daily amenities to the people and in this regard several flagship programmes have been undertaken. |
