KATHUA: In order to listen to the grievances of people residing in border areas, District Development Commissioner Kathua Jitender Kumar Singh conducted an extensive tour of border villages of Tehsil Hiranagar today. During the visit, the DDC convened a public meeting at village Londi where people apprised him of the problems like up gradation of school, irrigation tube well under BADP, permission to irrigate land near zero line, new building for Health Sub Centre, crop compensation, scarcity of water supply and pending MGNREGA projects in the village. At Bobiya village, the people projected the problems like shortage of medicines in dispensary, scarcity of water supply, electric poles in the area and pending ROSHNI act files. The DDC also visited Pansar border village and convened a public meeting where the inhabitants demanded bridge over Nallah in Pansar to Pahadpur Raod. He assured the people that district administration will provide every possible help to mitigate the grievances of the people. He said an initiative “PARYAS” has been devised to address the problems of the people. He said a special phone number 01922-238796 is installed in the DC office complex where the DDC himself will take calls of the people every Wednesday from 10-11 am. He called upon the people of border village to make direct contact with the district administration by just calling the number from their respective locations. Tehsil and Block Level Officers, Panchs, Sarpanchs and large number of people accompanied the DC. |
