SRINAGAR, June 3 : In the interest of Public at large, Government has issued a circular directing that no Passenger Vehicle will make more than one trip, in a cycle of 24 hours, on the National Highway from Jammu to Srinagar or from Srinagar to Jammu. Traffic Check posts at Lower Munda, Nagrota and other places, along the National Highway will keep a strict vigil and ensure the compliance of these directions. Drivers of PSVs have been frequently reported to make two trips within a period of 24 Hours from Jammu to Srinagar or from Srinagar to Jammu, resulting in fatigue to the driver thereby putting precious lives of driver, commuters, etc at high risk. To give time to the drivers to re-coup their energies after long trips, it has been directed that no PSV will be allowed double trips during 24 hour period.
