| Rahul promises development, blames state govt for slow pace | | | Agencies
Lucknow, June 14, All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice president Rahul Gandhi yesterday blamed the state government for slow pace of development and said he was doing his best to bring about development to Amethi and rest of Uttar Pradesh. "We do not have our government in the state. Yet we are doing our best to bring about development. We will continue to make efforts to develop entire Uttar Pradesh," said Rahul Gandhi after laying foundation stone of post office at Dhanesh village of Bazar Shukla area of his Amethi Lok Sabha constituency. Rahul said the benefits of development schemes were not reaching the people due to corruption. The UPA government would now ensure that the government subsidies were transferred directly to the people, he said. Promised development in the state he said his endeavour would be to develop the region in accordance with the vision of his father, late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. |
