Hr. Edu setup in remote areas is being developed on fast-track basis: Lone
Rs 15.50 crores being spent for the construction of GDC Karnah

KUPWARA, June 14 : Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone along with the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Mir Saif-Ullah visited Government Degree College Karnah and attended one-day Educational Conference besides took stock of the functioning of college activities and facilities being provided to the students. The Ministers also took stock of the ongoing construction work of the college infrastructure being executed at the cost of Rs 15.50 crore.
They were informed by the Deputy Commissioner that till date Rs. 6 crore have been spent for the college building. The Ministers directed the concerned executing agency to ensure quality of the work and expedite the construction work within the stipulated time. The Ministers were accompanied by the MLA Karnah, Mr. Kafeel-ul-Rehman, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Mr. Itrat Hussain Rafique, SDM, Karnah, Mr Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Principal of the college, Dr. Jehangir, former MLA’s, Mr. Kaiser Jamsheed Lone, Mr. Abdul Rehman Badana and other officers of district administration and JKPCC. On the occasion, Mr. Lone made announcement of providing funds for the Construction of College Auditorium, Boys and Girls Hostels besides residential quarter for the college Principal.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lone said that government is developing higher education setup in far flung areas on war footings so that youth are enlightened with the light of higher education and they are able to prove themselves at national and international competitions besides leads the State to new heights of excellence. Mr. Lone emphasized upon the faculty members of the college to deliver their best to the students and exploit talent and experience by adapting modern teaching methods. He assured them that the college will be equipped with all the necessary facilities besides introduction of some more subjects in the college. Mir Saif-ullah also highlighted the importance of higher education and said in present era it is the right of every youth to get acquainted with the higher education so that they are able to adjust themselves in modern society besides led the nation towards new path of development and prosperity.
