KATHUA, June 14 : District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Jitendra K. Singh on Friday reviewed arrangements for Amaranthji yatra being put in place by the district dispensation for the pilgrims. Representatives of different departments, educational institutions, religious organizations, members of Langar Samitis, prominent citizens were present on the occasion. A threadbare discussion on boarding and lodging, water supply, uninterrupted power supply, medical facilities, hygiene, transport, accommodation, traffic regulation and security was held. It was informed in the meeting that nine locations have been identified to accommodate about 2500 Amarnath Yatris in case of any eventuality besides it was also decided that temple buildings and educational institutions will also be used for the purpose. The DDC called upon the langar samitis to follow the instructions of the Supreme Court regarding the food menu for amaranth yatris. He informed that a committee has been constituted for implementation of Supreme Court’s order in this regard. He directed the langar samiti’s to get No Objection Certificate from the Fire & Emergency Departments to ensure installation of fire safety equipment at langar sites. He also exhorted upon them to maintain hygine and sanitation at langar sites. He said district administration will provide power supply, drinking water and security at all the langar sites in the district. ADDC Kathua, Ajay Singh Jamwal, ADC Kathua, SSP Kathua Mohan Lal, RTO Kathua Ajay Sharma, CMO Kathua, CEO Kathua and XEN PHE were present on the occasion. |
