| Govt focusing on better road connectivity in pilgrimage spots: Wani | | Inaugurates two Steel Motorable bridges in Bharath | |
DODA, June 14 : Minister for PWD (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering, Abdul Majid Wani, today visited his home place Bharath and inaugurated two Steel Motorable Bridges in Bharath area of Ghat Block besides laying foundation stone for two Motorable bridges on Bharath- Keshwan (Kishtwar) link road and construction of two PWD (R&B) roads and one PMGSY road in the region.
Addressing a series of public gatherings on the occasion, Wani reiterated the commitment of coalition government to connect all the left over habitations with a better network of roads and other basic facilities. He said that Government has taken revolutionary steps to bring transparency and accountability in the functioning of government machinery. He said social auditing and grass root awareness among the people is being disseminated, so that people can avail benefits of various welfare schemes of the government. The Minister inaugurated two bridges in Bharath i.e 28 m Span Steel Motorable Bridge over Udyanpur Nallah which was constructed with Rs. 104.63 lakh and 17 m Span Steel Motorable bridge over Balhal Nallah at Balhal that was constructed with Rs. 69.29 lakh under NAB. Later, Wani laid foundation stone for two 17 m Span Steel Motorable bridges over Bharath Nallah on Bharath- Keshwan (Kishtwar) that will be constructed by PWD (R&B) at an estimated cost of Rs. 400 lakh each and two PWD (R&B) roads, 6 Km from Dali Morh – Bagla via Khunoo Bhatbagi which will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 400 lakh and 2.5 Km Lower High School Kulhand to Nilsoo Link road that will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 289 lakh. He also laid the foundation of one PMGSY road i.e 6 Km road from Bharath to Aul which is going to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 292.90 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that connectivity of pilgrimage destinations and places is among the priority works of the department as various pilgrimage places have been connected with roads to provide hassle free journey to the pilgrims, while as various other projects are in pipeline. He announced that the famous Choundri Mata Temple in Bharath will be connected with road connectivity. The Minister said that continuous efforts are being made by the government to consolidate and expand the education network in the rural and unconnected areas, so that poor students get education facility at their door steps. He said fast track recruitment is being made to fill up the vacant posts in various Government Schools so that adequate and sufficient teaching staff could be provided to these schools. He said Schools in Jodhpur, Haanch, Udyanpur and Bheli areas have been proposed for up- gradation while as other areas a survey will be conducted and the eligible schools with adequate feeding schools will be upgraded in a phased manner. ADDC, G.N Balwan, Chief Engineer, PMGSY, Sheikh Hamid, Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B), Subash Gupta, AEE PWD (R&B) Division, G.M Banday, XEn PMGSY Division, H.R Lingeh besides Tehsildar, Phulail Singh and other officers accompanied the Minister. |
