SRINAGAR, June 27 : Use of modern technology and technical expertise is necessary for restructuring and reorganizing Agriculture Sector in Jammu and Kashmir for which present government is taking several steps. This was disclosed by Minister for Agriculture, Mr. G.H Mir at Anantnag in one day “Kissan Mela” organized by Agriculture department Anantnag.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Mir apprised the progressive farmers to take benefit from the different welfare schemes run by the department for their welfare. He urged them to take advantage of these schemes and make Agriculture sector profitable, so that modern generation is attracted towards this sector. Giving details of the different schemes Minister said that subsidy is given on modern Agricultural machinery viz Tillers, Tractors, Thrashers etc,so that the benefits reach to the needy, the Minister added that the distribution of K.C.C is taken on war footing besides arranging availability of modern fruit markets.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Horticulture, Mr. Raman Bhalla gave detailed account of the schemes run by present government for uplifting Agriculture and Horticulture sector Minister thanked the Prime Minister for assuring increased grant for the Horticulture sector in J&K State during 2013-14.
