| Technical snag detected in Delhi bound Spicejet flight | | | JAMMU, July 7: A Delhi bound Spice Jet flight SG 858 was grounded at Jammu airport for about three hours following timely detection of a technical snag minutes before it was scheduled to take off on Sunday. The flight which was scheduled to take off at 3.20 pm was delayed by almost 3 hours and took off from Jammu at 6 pm causing lot of hardships to passengers. According to official sources, while the flight was being parked at Bay 2 airport the staff detected smoke billowing out from the tail end of the plane. After the plane was halted and preliminary checks were conducted the technical snag was detected in the Auxiliary power unit of the plane. The flight engineers later removed the technical snag with assistance from other staff to save precious time of the passengers. Meanwhile, in the absence of adequate facilities for the passengers at the Jammu airport the passengers faced lot of hardships due to unwarranted flight delay. The flight was finally declared fit for travel and the passengers were informed to board the flight which took off from Jammu at 6 pm official sources confirmed. |
