Level of Chenab likely to rise

KISHTWAR: Chief Engineer (Civil) Dul Hasti Power Station DPS, Kishtwar, has appealed the people to restrict their movement along river Chenab in view of statutory periodical slit flushing from the reservoir of Dul Hasti Power Station.
During the flushing, the gates of the Dam shall be opened from 27-07-2013 (2200 Hours) to 28-07-2013 ( 20:00 Hours ) resulting an increase of two to three meters in the flow of water in the river Chenab.
As such, movement of men, vehicles and pets alongwith river bank during this period is not advisable. All the Concerned revenue officers, Police Officers and the officers of Rural Development Department have been asked to coordinate with each other in this behalf and jointly monitor the situation along the Chenab River bank and inform the general public to take proper care and avoid their movement in the area to avoid any mishap.
