| Market checkings at Srinagar, Anantnag | | Realize Rs. 15,200/- as fine | | from erring shopkeepers
SRINAGAR: The market checking squad headed by Assistant Director, Consumer Affair and Public Distribution conducted market checking at Natipora, Nowgam, Haft Chinar, Sanat Nagar, Goni Khan, Mahraj Bazar, Court Road, Lasjan etc. of Srinagar city here today.
During the market checking, 48 business establishments were inspected and an amount of Rs. 12,800/- was recovered as fine from 19 erring shopkeepers for violation of Essential Commodities Act.
Meanwhile, the market checking team comprising of Consumer Affair and Public Distribution, Municipal Council, Police headed by Assistant Director, Consumer Affair and Public Distribution today conducted market checking at Anantnag town.
During the market checking, fine of Rs. 2,400 was imposed on 10 erring shopkeepers and 150 Kgs of rotten vegetables, 50 Kgs of sub-standard milk and 40 kg of rotten fruits were destroyed on spot. |
